## 5. Configure Alerts to be triggered

<figure><img src="/files/budf8NZqv5WA61BPOp3u" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

After customizing and saving your settings, you will be able to configure your alerts in 2 different ways. We strongly recommend the first way (A) because it is more complete and efficient, quick to set up and only requires an alert location for 6 different orders.

### First option&#x20;

Configure a single alert that will trigger the 6 types of orders (ENTRY LONG, ENTRY SHORT, EXIT LONG, EXIT SHORT, EDIT SL LONG, EDIT SL SHORT)

<figure><img src="/files/PQqg1gm2AO47EYIwnds8" alt="" width="299"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

1. Click on "Alert" or make the shortcuts ALT + A
2. Condition: Select the name of the indicator
3. In the field following the name of the flag, select "Any call to alert()
4. Enter a name for the alert

### Second option:

Configure 1 different alert per order type. 'Edit-Stop-Loss' orders are not available in this way.

<figure><img src="/files/QV8XiQlDKLn6F6QpSqv0" alt="" width="295"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Click on "Alert" or make the shortcuts ALT + A

1. Condition: Select the name of the indicator
2. In the field following the name of the flag, select the condition corresponding to the type of order you want to assign to this alert. The 4 possible choices are: "\[✅|🔺] ENTRY LONG", " \[✅|🔻] ENTRY SHORT", "\[❌|🔺] EXIT LONG" ou "\[❌|🔻] EXIT SHORT".
3. Trigger: select "Once per bar"
4. Enter a name for the alert and your message
5. Repeat the operation 4 times to create 4 alerts corresponding to the 4 types of orders.

# Setup Backtest

<figure><img src="/files/gkG4nadiQW9y52iO9QI8" alt="" width="480"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

You can keep the default settings or customize the following fields:

**Side:** Choose whether the indicator should Backtest only Long, Short or 2 trades. For example if 'Long' is chosen the Short signals will be ignored and vice versa.

***

**Invest:** The amount of investment you want to allocate to this strategy.

***

**Position:** The position size (also called "Base Order Size" on different trading apps). For SPOT or leverage trading x1, the 'Position' field must be equal to the 'Invest' field. The relationship between the position size and the amount invested will represent the leverage. For example, for an investment of $1000 and leverage x3 'Invest' = 1000 and 'Position' = 3000.

***

**Fees %:** The percentage of your exchange's volume fees. The indicator takes into account these fixed costs at each entry and exit of Trades in "Taker" mode. For example as a percentage: Binance Futures = 0.04, Bybit Futures = 0.06, OKX Futures = 0.05.

***

**Negative Slippage %:** Allows you to take into account a negative slippage to obtain "downward" forecasts and a Backtest that is as close as possible to the actual results. Negative slippage is often ignored but can actually have a very harmful effect, especially for high-frequency strategies applied in small timeframes with very tight TP/SL or on assets that have very little liquidity and volume. The indicator will add to each trade a loss equivalent to the percentage entered multiplied by the position size. For example: If 'Negative Slippage %' = 0.01 and 'Position' = 1000, the indicator will record a loss of 0.0001\*1000 = $0.10 per trade.

***

**Start date / End date:** Set the start date and end date of the Backtest. Warning: Depending on your Tradingview Subscription Plan, you will have a different history capability. Basic (Free): 5000 bars, Pro: 10000 bars, Pro+: 10000 bars, Premium: 20000 bars. For example with the Free plan, in Timeframe H4 (4 hours) your chart will display a maximum of 5000 bars of 4 hours, which represents (4 \* 5000) / 24 = 833 days. You will then be able to Backtest thanks to the indicator the strategy on the last 833 days maximum (A little more than 2 years).

***

**Small Tab:** Displays a different Data Table freeing up space on the chart.

***

**Hide Tab / Hide Labels / Hide Boxes:** Allows you to hide the different elements related to the Backtest to obtain better visibility of the chart.

***

**Full Autopilot Mode \[H4]:** Check this box to run the strategy with preconfigured parameters for the timeframe H4. 3 Modes are available to trade: Cloud Breakouts, Tenkan/Kijun Crossings and Early SSA x SSB Crossings

# Ichimoku Parameters

<figure><img src="/files/NQcK0EigVLvTIpvT8Bvc" alt="" width="494"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

We do not recommend changing the default settings of Ichimoku. However, the indicator gives the possibility to change them to perform certain tests or for Ichimoku experts.\
\
It is also possible to show or hide the cloud, the Chikou Line and the Tenkan and Kijun Lines.

# Entry Conditions

<figure><img src="/files/kw5zmCl5tRS99DjwnMpq" alt="" width="464"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Choose here the different conditions that will trigger the trades. You can choose only one or several. As soon as a condition is met, a trade will be triggered. If a condition is met while a trade in the same direction (Long or Short) is already in progress, it will be ignored. The most commonly used Ichimoku signals are **cloud breakouts and the crossings of the Tenkan Line and the Kijun Line**.\
\
Each Ichimoku signal (except breakouts) is classified according to its strength according to the positioning of the signal relative to the cloud: Weak, Neutral or Strong. (Source: <https://www.ichimokutrader.com/signals.html>)

**Cloud Breakouts:** Entry after a cloud breakout up or down. Possibility to set a maximum distance between the price at the opening of the candle and the cloud as a percentage of the opening price. If the distance is too great the signal will be ignored.

***

**Bounce Off The Cloud:** Entry after bouncing above or below the cloud. Possibility to set a maximum distance between the price at the opening of the candle and the cloud as a percentage of the opening price. If the distance is too great the signal will be ignored.

***

**Tenkan x Kijun Crossings:** Entry after a bullish or bearish cross of Tenkan and Kijun. Possibility to choose the signal strength: Weak, Neutral or Strong.

***

**Chikou x Price Crossings:** Entry after a bullish or bearish cross of the Chikou with the price. Possibility to choose the signal strength: Weak, Neutral or Strong.

***

**Tenkan x Price Crossings:** Entry after a bullish or bearish cross of the Tenkan with the price. Possibility to choose the signal strength: Weak, Neutral or Strong.

***

**Kijun x Price Crossings:** Entry after a bullish or bearish cross of the Kijun with the price. Possibility to choose the signal strength: Weak, Neutral or Strong.

***

**Price Above/Below T-K:** Long entry after a cross of the Tenkan or Kijun with the price and that the Tenkan and Kijun are below the price. Entry Short after a cross of the Tenkan or Kijun with the price and that the Tenkan and Kijun are above the price. Possibility to choose the signal strength: Weak, Neutral or Strong.

***

**Tenkan-Kijun Rise/Fall:** Entry after the Tenkan and Kijun change state to go in the same direction up or down simultaneously. Possibility to choose the signal strength: Weak, Neutral or Strong.

***

**Early SSA x SSB Crossings:** Entry when Early SSA and SSB cross is confirmed 26 bars forward (in the projected cloud). Possibility to choose the signal strength: Weak, Neutral or Strong.

***

**SSA x SSB Crossings:** Entry at a classic cross of SSA and SSB. Possibility to choose the signal strength: Weak, Neutral or Strong. It is also possible to choose if the projected cloud is trending and to avoid small clouds that can sometimes indicate false signals.

# Entry Confirmations

<figure><img src="/files/gbyMaxcxhhjCcZCot3Or" alt="" width="430"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Choose one or more entry confirmations or no confirmation. If you choose several confirmations of entries you will be able to choose whether the trades should be triggered as soon as the first confirmation is validated or when all confirmations are validated at the same time. You can also choose to confirm the entries on the same candle where the signal appears or confirm as soon as the confirmation(s) are filled, even on candles following the input signal.

**Price is Above/Below Tenkan:** The Long entry signal is confirmed if the price is above the Tenkan. The Short input signal is confirmed if the price is below the Tenkan.

***

**Price is Above/Below Kijun:** The Long entry signal is confirmed if the price is above the Kijun. The Short input signal is confirmed if the price is below the Kijun.

***

**\[STRONG] Price is Above/Below Cloud:** The Long input signal is confirmed if the price is above the cloud. The Short input signal is confirmed if the price is below the cloud.

***

**\[NEUTRAL] Price is Inside and Above/Below Cloud:** The Long input signal is confirmed if the price is inside or above the cloud. The Short input signal is confirmed if the price is inside or below the cloud.

***

**Chikou Above/Below Price:** The Long input signal is confirmed if the price is above the Chikou. The Short input signal is confirmed if the price is below the Chikou.

***

**Rising/Falling Tenkan:** The Long input signal is confirmed if the Tenkan is rising. The Short input signal is confirmed if the Tenkan is falling.

***

**Rising/Falling Kijun:** The Long input signal is confirmed if the Kijun is rising. The Short input signal is confirmed if the Kijun is falling.

***

**Rising/Falling Chikou:** The Long input signal is confirmed if the Chikou is rising. The Short input signal is confirmed if the Chikou is falling.

***

**\[NON-ICHIMOKU] Bullish/Bearish MACD:** The Long input signal is confirmed if the MACD indicator is positive and rising. The Short input signal is confirmed if the MACD indicator is negative and falling.

***

**\[NON-ICHIMOKU] Bullish/Bearish Supertrend:** The Long input signal is confirmed if the Supertrend indicator is positive. The Short input signal is confirmed if the Supertrend indicator is negative.

***

**Distance From The Cloud | Below %:** Possibility to set a maximum distance between the price at the opening of the candle and the cloud as a percentage of the opening price. If the distance is too great the signal will be ignored.

***

**➜ Only Need One Confirmation \[AND/OR]:** By default all checked confirmations must be validated at the same time to confirm the signal. If you check this box the signal will be confirmed as soon as the 1st confirmation is validated.

***

**➜ Only Confirm When a Signal Appears:** By default the signal is confirmed as soon as the confirmation(s) are validated, even on candles following the signal. If you check this box the signal can only be confirmed as soon as it appears if the confirmation or confirmations are validated on the same candle.

# Exit Conditions

<figure><img src="/files/AQ3WBYedrU7ffKp2vmwx" alt="" width="490"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Choose one or more exit conditions. The conditions of exit are optional. If you do not choose one then you will have to define values of TP and SL, you can also combine the two. You can decide to start considering exit conditions only a certain number of bars after the start of the trade or only after reaching a Target.

**➜ Start Exit Conditions After # Bar OR After:** Start taking into account the exit conditions checked after # bars or after reaching a Target (Target 1, 2, 3 or 4)

***

**Cloud Reintegration:** Output after the price is reintegrated into the cloud.

***

# Risk Management

<figure><img src="/files/4f3ntvTMCvqgl7cYiAxC" alt="" width="502"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Easily define your own risk management including various essential options to optimize a trading strategy professionally. You can set your values of Take Profit, Stop Loss, Multi/Partial Take Profit, Stop Loss to Breakeven, Stop Loss Follows Targets, Hedge Mode and set TP/SL based on volatility (ATR). In addition, you can decide to start changing the Stop Loss value (for the 'SL to BE' and 'SL Follows Target' options) only a certain number of bars after the start of the trade and only after reaching a Target.

**➜ Start Moving SL After # Bar AND After:** Start changing the Stop Loss value after # bars and after reaching a Target (Target 1, 2, 3 or 4)

***

**SL to BE:** Moves the SL to the Breakeven point (% BE below)

***

**SL Follows Targets:** Moves the SL to the Breakeven point and then to each previous target.

***

**Hedge Mode:** By default it is checked in the Ichimoku policy. Allows you to have a Long and Short trade in progress at the same time, on the same asset.

***

**Use SL / SL Type:** Used to define a fixed Stop Loss. Default in percentage and possibility to define it thanks to the ATR.

***

**% BE:** Set the Breakeven point. 0 = exact entry point. Ability to set a positive or negative value.

***

**TP Type:** Default in percentage and possibility to define it thanks to the ATR.

***

**TP1 / % Size / L-S:** Allows you to set a 1st Target of TP. % Size must be between 0 and 100. Possibility to define different Targets for Long and Short.

***

**TP2 / % Size / L-S:** Allows you to define a 2nd Target of TP. % Size must be between 0 and 100. Possibility to define different Targets for Long and Short.

***

**TP3 / % Size / L-S:** Allows you to set a 3rd Target of TP. % Size must be between 0 and 100. Possibility to define different Targets for Long and Short.

***

**TP4 / % Size / L-S:** Allows you to set a 4th Target of TP. % Size must be between 0 and 100. Possibility to define different Targets for Long and Short. % Size for TP1 + TP2 + TP3 + TP4 must be less than or equal to 100 otherwise the results will be biased.

# Trailing Stop

<figure><img src="/files/Q9VrezQIH3OADhQ9KwCt" alt="" width="464"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Choose here 1 or 2 Trailing Stop. Because this option is optional, you can also decide to check nothing in this section.

**➜ Start Trailing After # Bar OR After:** Start taking into account the Trailing Stop conditions checked after # bars or after reaching a Target (Target 1, 2, 3 or 4)

&#x20;

**Trailing Stop: EMA:** Check this box to add a Trailing Stop based on an EMA and then choose the length of this EMA.

***

**Show EMA:** Show EMA (Yellow) on the chart

***

**Trailing Stop: % Deviation:** Check this box to add a Trailing Stop based on a Percentage Deviation of the Price from the Long or Short.

***

**Show Deviation line:** Show the deviation line (Violet) on the graph.

***

**Trailing Barstate:**&#x20;

* 'Confirmed + 1' = An output signal will be triggered after the price has crossed the calculated deviation point from the highest or lowest of the previous candles, after confirmation at the opening of the next candle.
* 'Real Time + 1' = An output signal will be triggered during the current candle if the price crosses the calculated deviation point from the highest or lowest of the previous candles.
* ❗ ' Real Time' = An exit signal will be triggered during the current candle if the price crosses the calculated deviation point from the highest or lowest of the previous candles and the current candle (May induce distorted results because Tradingview does not allow us to get the data inside the historical candles during a Backtest.

***

**Wait Positive:** This option allows you to ignore output signals from Trailing Stop conditions and inducing negative results. Trailing Stop conditions will only be validated when the deviation point is equal to or greater than the entry point (Long) or equal to or less than the entry point (Short).

# Alerts

<figure><img src="/files/UkeDd0TTWFUHhadjXzVr" alt="" width="455"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### How many profits can I expect using your solution?

First of all, it is impossible to predict exactly how strategies will perform in the future. It depends on several factors, the first being market conditions.

However, you can estimate your potential profits based on past data. For example:

**For an investment of $10,000 with Autopilot Mode in our AlgoRider Original strategy on BTC and ETH at the same time (H4), you can expect to earn $35,000 on average each year.**

[You can check the example backtest on BTC-ETH here.](https://algorider.io/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/algorider-stat-btc-eth.png)

[**You can check our statistics here.**](https://algorider.io/#statistics)

In any case, keep in mind that even though there is a high probability of obtaining similar results, past results do not guarantee future results.

Yes ! You can use all our indicators and backtest the strategies with a free account, however to use the Webhook feature that allows you to use alerts with Trading Bots, you will need at least the basic subscription "Pro" (from $12.95 / Month)

### Is this algorithm suitable for beginners?

Yes, you can absolutely use our AlgoRider Original and Ichimoku indicators even if you are a beginner. No advanced trading knowledge is required, as you can use the autopilot mode and rely on the backtesting system to check the algorithm's performance on the pair you are interested in.
